Allen
Kendall has appeared in six national tours, playing Andre
in The Phantom of the Opera, Drake in
Annie, Herbie in Gypsy and Moonface
Martin in Anything Goes among others. In New
York he has played Lt. Ward in Annie at
Madison Square Garden starring Kathie Lee Gifford
and directed by Martin Charnin. He had the great
pleasure to standby for the role of The Beadle in
Sweeney Todd at
New York City Opera starring
Elaine Paige, a production directed by Arthur
Masella and overseen by Harold Prince and
Stephen Sondheim. At the Westchester Broadway Theater
he originated the role of Joseph Buquet in the New York
Premiere of Maury Yeston’s
Phantom and can be heard on the RCA Cast Recording
of that show. Regionally Allen’s credits include Giuseppe
in The Most Happy Fella at North Shore Music
Theater, Enoch Snow in Carousel at both
Gateway and Candlewood Playhouses, Jerry Cruncher in
Two Cities: The Musical at Stamford Rich Forum
(a role he originated), Second Man in Kiss Me, Kate
and Dave in The Full Monty (the regional
theatrical premiere) both at Vermont’s prestigious Weston
Playhouse.
As
a writer Allen has had his work produced in Cincinnati,
Philadelphia, New York and Los Angeles. He is the author
of many produced plays and has also been commissioned to
create original material for several cabaret artists
appearing at New York’s Don’t Tell Mama.
When not performing or writing, Allen participates in
fundraising efforts to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity
Fights AIDS. He encourages all of you to
